Cosopt is a medicine that is used by patients with ocular hypertension. It is a condition wherein there is a high pressure within the eye. There are also cases in which Cosopt is used as a treatment for open eye glaucoma. When you are using this medicine, it is always advisable to follow everything that is said in your prescription. That is to make sure that you will be having a safe and effective medication.
Make sure that you are not wearing any contact lenses when you apply Cosopt. Prior to the application, you have to tilt your head backwards and lower down your eyelid and squeeze out a drop of medicine in to your eye. To prevent Cosopt from falling down, you have to apply a slight pressure into the inner corner of your eye. That is to prevent the medicine from falling down through your tear duct. You can wear your contact lenses again 15 minutes after you have applied this medicine. When your doctor prescribes you to apply 2 or more drops, then you can repeat the process every 5 minutes.
